She lands up in one apartment with her prized possessions-a couple of gold fish. When she takes them to visit her in-laws, she is initially overwhelmed by the lavish lifestyle that she discovers there. Also, her mother-in-law is of the opinion that gold fish are an inexpensive gift and not worth keeping. Jayanthi decides to leave for her parent's place, but Rajiv convinces her to stay on. When she returns, Jayanthi is shocked to find that the goldfish are missing. She's convinced that her mother-in-law wants them dead because she thought they were just cheap gifts. This puts Jayanthi on edge. She starts to suspect her mother-in-law's involvement in the gold fish murder and decides to learn if that is true by meeting her son, Akash (Varun Dhawan). Jayanthi sets out to find the goldfish, but is stopped by Rajiv. She does not understand why she should not, as she has a right to go and check on her pets. Rajiv tells her that he will accompany her and look after them while she's gone, but she refuses and decides it would be better for them all if they moved to his parents' house. When she returns, Jayanthi is shocked to find that the goldfish are missing. She's convinced that her mother-in-law wants them dead because she thought they were just cheap gifts. This puts Jayanthi on edge. She starts to suspect her mother-in-law's involvement in the gold fish murder and decides to learn if that is true by meeting her son, Akash (Varun Dhawan).
